ZeroAgni Wins First Race of TTXGO- First Zero Carbon Motorcycle Championship
A thrilling battle for first, third and just to finish marked a the start of the first zero carbon world series motorcycle championships (TTXGP), yesterday.
History was made as the TTXGP took to the field of the West Coast Moto Jam at the Infineon Raceway, California. Teams from across America came and changed hearts and minds, and delivered a compelling message; The next generation of motorsport has arrived. Its real and its TTXGP.
The field was led with a turn by turn battle between ZeroAgni ridden by Shawn Higbee and Lightening Motorcycles, Michael Barnes. Each pushed the other to deliver a thrilling pace that was only 18 secs per lap off the AMA Superbike pace with each pulling 1:57 per lap. The battle was finally decided when Barnes had to stop to cycle his bike through a reboot but still managed to hold of Michael Hannas to 3rd place on the ElectricRacebikes.com
WerkStatt, Jennifer Bromme, riding the Mavizen TTX02, suffered a software glitch on the first turn of the first lap. Having to reboot her machine and standing still for about 30 secs, she finally started her race and climbed through the field taking 4th place behind Hannas.
Broome just beat out the second Zero satellite teams, KSquared Racing, ridden Kenyon Kludge, Zero’s chief electrical engineer riding a modified Zero stock bike.
The field was rounded out Zeo Rem riding a modified commuter bike from Pril Motors. John Wild from Square Wave and Jason Lauritzen from Electric MotorSports brought up the rear.

About TTXGP
- TTXGP was founded by Azhar Hussain, an entrepreneur with a history in the electronics industry. It launched in 2008, announcing the world’s first zero carbon, clean emission motorcycle race on the Isle of Man TT for June 2009.
- 22 bikes officially applied to race, a lucky 16 motorbikes from six different countries, including the USA, India, Germany, Austria, UK and the Isle of Man took to the start line, and a heroic 9 finished the gruelling course to be part of history and the inaugral race.
- The winning bike was produced by Agni Motors, ridden by Rob Barber and recorded a lap speed of 87mph with peak speeds of 106mph.
- For the 2010 race season TTXGP has developed a sustainable motorsport model designed to meet the needs of the teams as the industry develops. The 2010 season will see 3 regional championships culminating in the fastest teams from each championship racing each other in the TTXGP FINAL/UEM to win the title of “the worlds fastest clean emission zero carbon team.” TTXGP has retained the leading experienced teams and expert builders of EV motorbikes for the forthcoming year.
- TTXGP technical Panel formed in partnership with the IET is a formidable team of the worlds leading experts on green motorsport. This panel is an independent panel with is own communication channel and acts as safety officers as well as adjudicators to all the TTXGP races.
- TTXGP’s production company, Mavizen, (http://www.mavizen.com/) produced the prototype bike TTX01 in November 2008, to ‘show what could be done’. Mavizen has since teamed up with Agni Motors to produce the TTX02, the world’s first production superbike ready for delivery early 2010 with a limited production of 50 units. Interest can be registered at www.mavizen.com Mavizen is also producing a ‘kit’ bike where the basic ‘ingredients’ can be bought, making a race-ready bike accessible and affordable.
- TTXGP is developing a global programme of low-carbon motorsports events working with the Motorsport sanctioning bodies; ACU, FMI, and UEM to provide a platform for competition to drive technology and innovation into the next generation of motorsports.
- TTXGP has forged a partnership with CRP Racing in Italy to deliver race ready bikes exclusively for future TTXGP teams as well as be on-the-ground logistics support for all international teams travelling to the Italian championship. The partnership is designed to ease the burden for teams as far as possible and promote the TTXGP Italia/FMI 2010 series through Italian press and associations.
